Can you really still find housing this close to the semester?
Every August, students assume everything is taken. The big complexes with 12-month leases fill early — but by-the-room rentals turn over on their own schedule, and rooms open late in the summer as plans change. Private room, individual lease, utilities included, starting at $525/month — all in University City, Charlotte, NC — within walking distance of the UNC Charlotte (UNCC) campus. From our University Terrace, University Terrace North, and Colville Gardens communities, the walk to campus takes about 5 minutes.

What does “by the room” actually mean?
You lease your own private bedroom in a professionally managed house or condo. Your lease covers you — not your roommates. If a roommate leaves, that’s not your financial problem. The one-week path, day by day
Day 1 — check what’s open and apply. Browse available rooms, then hit Apply. The application takes about 5 minutes online. The $50 application fee is refundable if your application isn’t processed.
